OVERTIME

304. - (1) An officer, other than those in General Order 308, may be granted payment of overtime if he is required to work overtime, or to do duty during an emergency, whether during or outside the official working hours, according to the rates, type of work and period as prescribed in General Order 306.

(2) The following works performed outside the official working hours entitles an officer to claim for overtime pay are:

(a) works which are important and cannot be postponed to the following day as to do so would prejudice the public service;

(b) works required of an officer beyond his normal line of duty;

(c) works which must be completed within a stipulated period; and

(d) emergency works.

(3) Overtime work can be performed on a normal working day, a weekly holiday or a public holiday.
