Board of Officers may permit medical treatment in a foreign country
274. - (1) When an officer or a member of his family is certified by a Special Medical Board as requiring treatment that is not available in Malaysia, the Board shall submit the Case to a Board of Officers consisting of the State Secretary as chairman, the State Financial Secretary and the State Director of Health as members certifying that such treatment is not available in Malaysia, or such treatment facilities, if available, is unable to meet the requirements of such officer or a member of his family.

(2) The Board of Officers mentioned in paragraph (1) shall, on receipt of such recommendation, make a decision as to whether it agrees or not in permitting such treatment outside Malaysia at Government expense.

(3) If the Board of Officers makes a decision permitting such treatment, it shall also decide on the expenses that may be borne by the Government including the expenses of a person allowed to accompany him.

(4) Any appeal against the decision of the Board of Officers shall be forwarded for consideration of the Chief Minister, whose decision shall be final and conclusive.
