Ward charges for officer and his family admitted to higher ward
278. - (1) An officer or a member of his family admitted to a higher class of ward than for which he is eligible due to unavailability of vacant bed in the class of ward for which he is eligible shall be charged ward charges according to the rates for the class of his eligibility.

(2) Except in the case referred to in paragraph (1), an officer or a member of his family requesting admission to a higher class of ward than for which he is eligible shall be charged the ward charges according to the rates applicable to the public for such class of ward.

(3) An officer or a member of his family who is compelled or who elects to be treated in a lower class of ward than for which he is eligible shall be required to pay the charges prescribed for such class of ward only.

(4) Subject to this General Order, an officer or a member of his family shall continue to obtain free treatment and medicines.
