Constitution and membership of Medical Board | PART TWO MEDICAL BOARD AND TREATMENT OUTSIDE COUNTRY 269. - (1) On receipt of an application from the Head of Department for examining the fitness of an officer of the department by a Medical Board, the State Secretary may request the State Director of Health to constitute a Medical Board for such purpose. (2) The Medical Board which is constituted under paragraph (1) shall consist of not less than two persons one of whom should be a Government medical specialist in the nature of illness or injury from which the officer to be examined is suffering. (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (2), the State Secretary may- (a) where no Government medical specialist in the required field is available; or (b) where he thinks it necessary to get a second expert opinion, permit a private medical specialist to be appointed as a member of the Medical Board under this General Order. |
