Salary emplacement on promotion
    48. The salary of an officer who has been promoted shall be fixed in the following manner:

    (a) if, immediately prior to his promotion, the salary of the officer is lower than the minimum salary of his promotional post, he shall receive the minimum salary specified at Level 1 on the salary scale of his promotional post;

    (b) if, immediately prior to his promotion, the salary of the officer is the same as or higher than the minimum salary of his promotional post, he shall receive the salary specified at Level 1 on the salary scale at the next higher point above the salary he last received prior to his promotion;

    (c) if, immediately prior to his promotion, the salary of the officer is the same as or higher than the maximum salary specified at Level 1 on the salary scale, he shall receive the salary specified at Level 2 on the salary scale at the next higher point above the salary he last received prior to his promotion; or

    (d) if, immediately prior to his promotion, the salary of the officer is the same as or higher than the maximum salary specified at Level 2 on the salary scale, he shall receive the salary specified at Level 3 on the salary scale at the next higher point above the salary he last received prior to his promotion.
