Secondment of officers
15.-(1) An officer may be seconded to serve, according to such terms and conditions and for such period as may be determined by the Government-

(a) in the public service of any State in Malaysia or in the general public service of the Federation;

(b) with any Statutory Body or Local Authority within the State; or

(c) in any company in which the Government has interest.

(1A) The notice of secondment shall be issued by the State Secretary on behalf of the Government.

(2) An officer in the public service of any State in Malaysia or in the general public service of the Federation or in the service of any Statutory Body or Local Authority in Malaysia may be considered by the Government for secondment to the public service of the State in accordance with such terms and conditions and for such period as may be determined by the Government.

(3) An officer on secondment shall draw the full-pay of the post to which he is seconded and shall be eligible for salary movement, if any, normally payable in such a post. However, where an officer is seconded from a post in the public service to a post outside the public service, salary movement shall be paid in accordance with the rules or regulations made in that behalf by the receiving Government, Administration or Organisation.

(4) The pay of an officer on secondment shall be paid by the receiving Government, Administration or Organisation.

(5) During the period of secondment, the officer shall be deemed to remain on the establishment of his department or Organisation, and his salary movement in his substantive post shall be notionally adjusted accordingly.

(6) The service of an officer while on secondment shall count for pension or superannuation purposes.

(7) An officer who has been on secondment shall be eligible for the salary, leave and other privileges applicable to the post to which he is seconded and while on such leave he shall be paid the pay of that post.
