Officer absent from duty not entitled to salary and other rewards | 123.-(1) An officer who absents himself from duty for any period without permission or fails to return to duty within the period required shall not be entitled to any salary and other rewards for the period in which he absents himself.
(2) For the purpose of paragraph (1), a recommendation by the Head of Department certifying the period in which an officer is absent from duty is sufficient authority for the appropriate authority to deduct the salary and other rewards of such officer for the period in which he absents himself. (3) An officer who absents himself from duty or fails to return to duty without reasonable excuse shall also be liable to disciplinary action. |
