Curtailment of leave
106.-(1) When, owing to the exigencies of the service, it has not been possible to grant an officer the full vacation leave standing to his credit, or it is necessary to require the return to duty of an officer already on vacation leave before the expiry of such leave granted, the balance may be accumulated and used by him on subsequent periods of leave at any time before his retirement, subject to the provisions relating to the maximum accumulation of leave contained in General Order 117.

(2) An officer on vacation leave who desires to shorten his vacation leave may apply to the authority who granted the vacation leave for permission to do so.

(3) Where an officer is given permission to shorten the vacation leave already granted, he may, at the discretion of the authority who granted the vacation leave, be allowed to carry forward that portion of the vacation leave not spent into the next succeeding year.
