Authorities approving leave
AUTHORITIES APPROVING LEAVE

109.-(1) The authority for the granting of leave shall be as follows:

(a) the Head of Department is given the authority to approve the following categories of leave:
    (i) vacation leave, including the carrying forward of vacation leave not exceeding two years' eligibility to the succeeding year;

    (ii) sick leave with full-pay for a period of not more than ninety days in a calendar year;

    (iii) maternity leave;

    (iv ) paternity leave; and
(b) the State Secretary is given the authority to approve the following categories of leave:
    (i) sick leave with full-pay (after the said period of ninety days referred to in paragraph (1) (a) (ii) above) provided the total period of such sick leave shall not exceed one hundred and eighty days at any one time or in a calendar year;

    (ii) sick leave due to tuberculosis, leprosy, cancer and similar sickness requiring a long recuperation period and certified by a Medical Board, with half-pay;

    (iii) unrecorded leave of not more than sixty days in a calendar year for attending course or study organised by co-operative societies, where the officer is a member thereof, and such course or study is approved by the Government;

    (iv) unrecorded leave for other purposes as may be approved by him;

    (v) sick leave with half-pay for a period of one hundred and eighty days at any one time;

    (vi) study leave with half-pay for approved courses;

    (vii) injury leave to enable the officer to recover from injury sustained during the course of his official duty;

    (viii) extended sick leave on half-pay not exceeding ninety days in calendar year and further extended sick leave without pay not exceeding ninety days in one calendar year but with assistance allowance equivalent to half-pay;

    (ix) pilgrimage leave;

    (x) leave without pay.
