Passage and transport
67. An officer travelling on official duty is eligible-

(a) for passages for himself only, when not travelling by Government transport or vehicle provided by the Sponsor, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the Ninth Schedule;

(b) to travel by any mode of transport including air:

Provided that an officer may be required by the Head of Department to travel by air when this is cheaper and quicker;

(c) for fixed conveyance and mileage allowance when utilising his own transport (motorcar, motorcycle, bicycle, motor boat or outboard motor) at the rates and in accordance with the terms and conditions as set out in Table VII of the Eighth Schedule:

Provided that no such allowance shall be payable in respect of journeys between an officer’s office and his residence.
